you took everything

nefariously you crept, into my mind,
wary of those with judgement enough to surmise;
wary of family who acquired discerning eyes;
wary unless i was unattended;

meticulously you bonded, ensuring i felt safe,
wooing a child with extravagance she had never had,
promising a girl hope, dreams, and a castle full of love,
grooming and tilling the soil of her heart,
fabricating her beliefs.

the way in which you hunted her;
true objectives remaining veiled,
persistently regulating and signaling disposition,
percolating her cognizance imperceptibly;

you hid within the shadows while she played hide and seek;
cautiously devoting her vulnerability to memory;
peeping from outside her window as she slept,
polluting every dream.

you found the well she drank water from,
poured in all of your regrets and neuroses,
mixed in varied faults and frailty,
and perverted every little bit of what she knew as creed.

you forcibly exposed yourself in ways unfathomable,
battered her self esteem like extermination,
ravaged her virtue without a passing denotation,
and left her to bleed from the soul, blaming her naivety.

matured in more ways than one,
the little girl did see,
evil residing in his eyes,
peering back at she;
lurking in his action like a 1000 year old tree.
